December. A time for giving, receiving and stress. Your schedule and finances are stressed. Your ability to take time for yourself is stressed. What happened to the happiness surrounding the holidays? What happened to staying fit and healthy? Well, don’t fret. We have some amazing tips to keep you in tip-top shape during Christmas. Oh, stress-free too!
First, exercises. We’re all busy. Don’t let this be your excuse. You can always put something off for a half of an hour to walk briskly or hit the gym. If you have a workout routine don’t sacrifice it because you’re busy. You could cut the time back, but don’t eliminate it all together.
Next, nutrition. If you’re going to a holiday party try to eat at your house first. Even if it is a light and healthy snack, have it before arriving to a party hungry. This will keep you from overeating. Also, talk to us. We have resources that can point you in the right direction as to what needs to be on your holiday shopping list and menu. Don’t forget to make small changes, either. Use plain yogurt instead of sour cream or hummus instead of mayonnaise.
Finally, drink plenty of water. We tend to forget to do this around the holidays. Even if you drink hot or cold tea, it is still mostly water and counts as better for you versus juice or a glass of wine. Keep a bottle of water in hand at all times. Staying hydrated is important to avoiding stress and eliminating potential health issues.
The holidays can be fun and healthy. Simple tricks and small changes will yield big results and keep you on track towards your weight loss goals!
