Odom Health & Wellness is unable to provide nutrition and weight loss services for individuals living outside of Minnesota

Fox news posted a feature yesterday talking about the 6 ways to lose weight and keep it off for good. We here at Odom Health & Wellness LOVE their number one suggestion, which is to Consult a dietitian!  Here’s a link to the article:  http://www.foxnews.com/health/2014/01/20/6-proven-ways-to-lose-weight-for-good/

If you are thinking about losing weight but don’t think you can afford a medically supervised program, or a nutritionist, call us first. We are able to design packaged programs often within the budgets of our clients. It doesn’t hurt to ask, so please give us a call.

In the meantime, we’re listing the top 5 foods you should NEVER eat because of their fat content.

#1. Smoothie King’s Hulk Strawberry Smoothie.  This smoothie is packed with 1,044 calories, 35g fat, 120g sugar.

#2. Starbucks’ Double Chocolaty Chip Frappuccino Blended Creme with whipped cream. This might be a given as bad, but it is surprising just how BAD it really is. A grande contains 510 calories; 19g fat, 11g saturated; 59g sugar; 300mg sodium.

#3 Wendy’s Sweet and Spicy Boneless Wings.  OK, the calorie count in these wings isn’t too bad (not the best either), but it is the salt content that really is shocking and unhealthy. The wings contain One order: 550 calories, 18g fat, 27g sugar, 2,530mg sodium.

#4. Olive Garden’s Grilled Shrimp Caprese. While you might think because this pasta doesn’t have a cream-based sauce, and is complemented with grilled shrimp, that it should be OK as a one-time treat when out with friends or family – think again. This dish contains 900 calories, 41g fat, 3,490mg sodium.

#5. Haagen Dazs’ Dulce de Leche Low-Fat Frozen Yogurt. The label says it is low-fat and it is frozen yogurt. It has to be better than ice cream, right? WRONG! The sugar content in this treat is actually worse than many regular ice creams.  A ½ cup of this frozen treat contains 190 calories, 2.5g fat, 25g sugar, 35g carbs..
