Eating Healthy Isn’t A Good New Year’s Resolution….

by | Dec 18, 2014 | Healthy Food

That’s right, we said it! Eating healthy isn’t a good New Year’s Resolution because it is too generic. A great New Year’s Resolution is specific and really implements a plan as to how you will get from step A to step B with actual results.  If you’re thinking about getting healthier or working towards a weight loss goal in 2015, keep reading.

The first thing you need to consider for better health in wellness in 2015 is your starting point. When most people make a New Year’s Resolution, they usually pick a broad end goal as their resolution. Why? This is a step in the wrong direction. You should make a first quarter resolution towards a bigger goal (your desired outcome) for December 31st of 2015.

For example, if you want to eat healthier think about how you will accomplish this. Instead of “Eating Healthy” as your resolution, you should initiate something like “Meet with a nutritionist before the second week in January to start my healthy eating lifestyle.” Being specific and honest with yourself will lead to better results versus falling away from a goal that is too big or too generic to handle all at once. Remember, just because the clock strikes midnight doesn’t mean you’re automatically filled with willpower and knowledge as to how to “eat healthier” or “get healthy” in the New Year.
