If you are already thinking of swimsuit season and how to tone up your arms and legs, try out this fun and results driven couples workout from our very own, Amanda F.
Amanda and her husband Mike started out with a simple formula: 10 groups of 3 sets of 10 exercises. That give you a total of 300 reps. But Amanda says it goes by quickly working out with someone else. Especially when you rotate who chooses the three exercises for each group.
Group 1 (Amanda Chose)
- 3 sets of 10 side arm lifts
- 3 sets of 10 shoulder press
- 3 sets of 10 crunches
Group 2 (Mike Chose)
- 3 sets of 10 lunges on each leg
- 3 sets of 10 sit throughs
- 3 sets of 10 push ups
And then Amanda would make up the next group, then Mike the next, and so on until they did 10 groups. Amanda says they always get a good workout and challenge each other to try different exercises. “Some exercises or sequences of exercises I wouldn’t normally do or remember to try, but Mike does! Not knowing what your workout partner will choose will keep you on your toes and doing exercises you might not choose yourself. And doing the same exercises at the same time as your spouse can be a good motivator. A little competition can be fun in a relationship and you can’t help being proud or impressed with your spouse’s effort.”
This is a great way to get in a good workout while spending good, quality time with your spouse or a good friend.
