Today you see more and more commercials for services and online products that improve your brain’s health. Well, these items can’t harm your brain, but there are less expensive ways to improve how your brain functions- especially when it comes to memory.

Food for Thought:

The National Institutes of Health has said there is insufficient evidence that food, diet, or lifestyle will prevent Alzheimer’s disease.

Top 3 Brain Foods

1. Olive Oil is a must. Use it however you can. You see, olive oil contains vitamin E.  This vitamin may help protect neurons, which in certain parts of the brain start to die when someone develops Alzheimer’s disease. Studies show vitamin E supplements don’t help this process, but olive oil consumption shows an improvement.

2.  Cooked spinach. Did you know 1/2 cup of  cooked spinach has 25% of your daily intake when it comes to vitamin E? It is true. And cooked spinach is by far better than raw spinach, which only has 15% of your daily intake of vitamin E.

3. Any type of berry. The latest research presented at the National Meeting of the American Chemical Society in Boston found that blueberries, strawberries, and acai berries may help put the brakes on age-related cognitive decline by preserving the brain’s natural “housekeeper” mechanism, which wanes with age.
